Missionary, praying for baby
A missionary working in a North African country where he was not allowed to preach the gospel, had no opportunity to speak to any person about Jesus for 13 years. He became so desperate that he prayed and said to God that he is now willing to take his own life in his hands and create an opportunity. He made a big placard on which he wrote; "Give me 15 minutes to speak to you about Jesus. He went to a very high bridge and stood there with the placard. He realized that if he was caught he will be killed so he decided that he will jump off the bridge after speaking. He stood there for the whole day and not one single person reacted. That evening he was devastated. While he was in his house a Muslim man came to him and invited him to come and pray with them in the Mosque the next morning at 5 o'clock. He went and prayed from his heart. After he prayed a man walked over to where the women were sitting and brought something in a bundle to the missionary and said; You say your God can do miracles, this girl is 7 years old and is paralyzed. Please pray for her. He started praying pleading with God to restore this girl. Nothing happened. He prayed again asking God to reveal His power and love. Nothing happened. He prayed a third time and still nothing. As he looked into the eyes of the father with the paralyzed girl in his arms he saw such despair and disappointment in the man's eyes that he wanted to cry. As the man was walking back towards the women the bundle started moving and the little girl started running towards her mother.
1500 Muslims received Jesus as a result and that Mosque was turned into a church.
Was this a very special man? Was his prayer so special? No, 50 million people all over the world were praying on that particular day for that particular country during the worldwide prayers for the 10/40 window countries in 1997.
